Non-beauty related, but art related.

I have to post this amazing artwork somewhere!!!

Click here to see this amazing artwork:
This was done with ballpoint pen. Nothing else. And not to mention it is absolutely beautiful and looks like a real portrait! Seeing this kind of art makes me want to give up forever... haha, not really, but kind of.

I know I haven't been updating my blog very much, but I turned 21 on the 23rd! It was a lot of fun and it's weird being 21 now, but convenient~ Anyways, all I have been doing is painting and sketching and stuff. I can't get enough of it! I go through little (or big) kicks of non-stop doing little things I forgot that I loved so much. My mama got me a great easel for my birthday, so nice <3 and water-based oil paints -- you can mix them with water or acrylic or whatever else and they are heaven sent! I wish I would have discovered these a long time ago!

I should start posting my art but in the meantime, I made a new deviant art:

It's hard to keep up on the internet sometimes, I gotta admit.

Non-Beauty related, very artsy related.

Just a very quick update, so quick - I'm using tinypic as my image host ;3 I haven't been doing my nails much, but I have been drawing/painting non-stop. I never end up finishing my paintings for some reason, but I was really into this one. I am going to buy a frame from goodwill soon to frame it. I've always been really harsh about what I draw or paint, but this time I let all of that out of the window and came up with something I really like. I guess I just need to NOT have a complete plan before I do my artwork, seems to work best like that. Anyways, onto my painting: The next one I am painting is for one of my best friends for her birthday coming up in September, I can't wait to finish it!

Nail Strips topic.

Okay. I am sure a lot of people are going to disagree with me on this one. I am not one for this nail strip craze! I'm pretty sure Minx was first with the whole stick on nail strips (If I am not mistaken?), mostly celebrities had them, now Sally Hansen has come up with a whole bunch of new ones.

I think that the nail strips are taking away the whole idea of nail art. They're making some people lazy and unappreciative of nail art and the dedication it takes for some people. I DO get that people don't have time and what not, but in the time that it takes you to peel each strip, place on 10 finger nails, file and etc. You could be painting your nails with your own colors, yourself. (Not to mention you can re-use your nail colors a million times, with those strips you can only use 'em once.) You could even add your own decal in that same amount of time.
I'm not trying to sound super negative or anything, and it's not really even that huge of a deal, I guess it just irritates me when I spend time on my nails and people ask if they are the nail strips.... u____u~ Or when I do someones nails, they end up telling me everyone thought they were the stick on nail strips!

Plus, there's more of a satisfaction when you get done doing your own nails. Feels rewarding!

See, these were fast and easy. And practice really does make perfect. When I first started doing nails I wasn't good at all. Keeeeep tryin'

Sakura NOTD

I love Cherry blossoms.

The nail polish looks really orange-y in pictures. It's more of a dark red, in real life it almost is a blue-red. Pictures are weird sometimes.
I think this would be cute on every nail, or little sakura leaves on the other nails, nevertheless, I really like this one. You could even switch it up to look more summer-y and make the nails pink...or pastel green would be so pretty. Then again it might look too much like the Arizona Green tea label.

Anyways, Happy fathers day to all you (non-deadbeat) dads! ;}

Turquoise stone nails

Turquoise stone nails!

(And here is an extra picture to throw into this post!:

My sisters pink leopard nails.
I used a crumpled up piece of plastic bag for this look. And I think that's pretty obvious, I need to master the turquoise nails, because this isn't completely cutting it. I don't hate it..I just don't know if people would instantly think "turquoise stone".
Has anyone ever done this technique with any different colors? Or even this turquoise stone look?

2 NOTD's!

I know. I know.
It's been too long. I want to start blogging more again~! Roadblocks, though. u___u Okay, so last time my laptop stopped working out of nowhere. I went to the bathroom, came back and it stopped working. 2 months ago I ended up with another laptop, and about 3 weeks ago my new laptop is now stuck in a never-ending boot loop. Again, I went to the bathroom, came back and POOF.. stuck in a boot loop. What are the odds?!
Okay, anyways...(But I did have like 30 different NOTD pictures I had racked up ready to blog. and a bunch of FOTD pictures too, now I don't) So, here's my 2 NOTD's from last week. I was in an  ombre/gradient kick. Well, enjoy.

Also, I never knew how busy I'd be from starting College! It's crazy. I have no social life, but I am ok with that for now. Now, finals are beginning so I am going to be even more busy, but I am going to try to make an effort and start posting my makeup, mani/pedi's, anything beauty or baking related!

May 5, 2012 IS A SCAM

My uncle bought me a Ring Light for my camera for Christmas. It completely doesn't/didn't work. It's broken and just plain doesn't turn on, charge, anything. I called them 2 weeks after Christmas to get a refund and they said something along the lines "Oh, sure! It will be there in about 3 business weeks". Okay, so I waited. I called back after 4 weeks and they say "Oops, there's a wrong address", and that "they are sending a new one" Okay, So this was the 2nd time by now they re-read the address back. A week after that the same thing, 2 weeks after that a new excuse of "they never got my address in the first place". And about 5 more excuses have been told to me after that. Now, I called 2 weeks ago and they said "I am so sorry this never happens" and of course I actually kind of believed them a little bit. I didn't want to completely give up! Now the new one they said 2 weeks ago "it will be there 4/29/12 at 6pm." Has it came? no.  When I call, I have to give them my name, so now when I call I am on record and they tell me "Call back in 2 hours, there are no technicians available." (Lies)

Has anyone else ever gone through Sakar/know they are a scam or has had this happen to you? It just disgusts me a 'business' would be like this.

(Please re-post this to your blog or anywhere else for that matter. I don't want anyone else wasting money that they DON'T have.)

Anime/Manga Nail art

I'm sure anyone that knows me/has seen my blog/reads it knows I love Anime and Japan, I also obviously love nail art too~ so it only made sense to combine the two and create my first Anime/Manga nail art~! I've searched & searched on Google and I have yet to find anyone that has done these type of nails, I am excited to make them look better next time! Or even put them on a few different fingers! By the way - my nails are so short right now. I've made and learned from the huge mistake of using pure acetone to take my nail polish off. It actually ate my finger nails and they are so weak, thin and short. Will take a little while to return to my normal nail.

Bare with me with this hand, I forgot to put white nail polish on as a base for the paper, so that's why it looks wet-ish.

Oh! And if anyone was wondering, the manga is from Nana

(Nail of the Day, Hair of the Day, Face of the Day)

Well, here they are! These nails have been one of my favorite nails I've came up with, so simple but super cute~ My makeup is nothing special, just an everyday go-to makeup for me. And hair, I do this with my hair all the time also, but probably the first time I've posted my hair like this, it doesn't photograph all that well for some reason!

Want to help your dry, brittle, lifeless hair?

I do!

I have probably had just about every natural and unnatural hair colors throughout 8th grade - now. The thing that really killed my hair was getting my hair to platinum when I was in 8th grade, I didn't know about toner then so I used bleach-box-dye a million times to get it platinum. I tried to make it grow by dying it brown and other colors, but I just wasn't taking proper care of it. I have went to blonde probably 4 or 5 times in my life, and that has really taken a toll on my hair. My hair was so bad at one time that when it was wet, I could pull on the ends and they would be stretchy, like elastic! ick.

Now for about 2 years I have been really trying to take care of my hair. Ever since 9th grade I have wanted long hair, but it just hasn't happened yet. I've bought countless products/shampoo's/conditioners/etc. mostly from Sally's Beauty Supply, and none have made a difference to be honest... Everything has alcohol and other things in them that are just horrible for your hair.

A few months ago I researched different food items that are really good for your hair!
I made a little Olive Oil-Avocado Hair mask concoction, and it really does restore my super dry ends. I love it, I use it once a week (most people probably wouldn't have to use it that often but I want results and I want them NOW)

(These measurements aren't exact, I change them up sometimes depending on how dry my hair is)
1/4 c. *Olive oil
1/2 *Avocado
1-2 *Egg yolk
tablespoon *Honey
teaspoon *Lemon juice

Emulsify Olive Oil, honey and lemon juice with a Whisk. Mash ripe avocado with a fork. Whisk into olive oil blend. Then separate yolk from the egg, add to the rest and whisk once more. Heat in microwave for about 10 seconds or so (DO NOT leave in the Microwave, the egg in the mixture will become scrambled). Leave on hair for 15-30 mins. I have one of those conditioning heat-cap things that I use sometimes when I wear the hair mask, so that is good too.
Also a tip: when washing this out of your hair, wash it out with cool water- otherwise you will end up with scrambled egg hair. You can also mix conditioner with this mixture together if you don't want to go through leaving on a hair mask and stuff.

This really is food for your hair. Doesn't it make you feel a little better that you can put this on your hair as well as literally eat this?! Can you eat your chemical-filled shampoo's/conditioners? I guess you COULD, but it wouldn't be the best idea.
You can look up all of the benefits of these ingredients, there are so many!

Best of luck to anyone trying to grow their hair out or just wanting healthier hair! I want to try out more healthy options for hair. Anything else I learn/come up with I am going to share on my blog.
